Well the holiday season is starting now. The question is, what happens to our income now! In this type of market we have to identify what activities will add to income now. We also have to keep busy doing those activities that result in income in the spring. Take out those contact data bases and start calling everyone.

Just say hi.

Next mail everyone that bought a home you had listed a card and say hello.

Do not take off days. Discipline yourself everyday to do some activity that has a chance of producing income.

Hi Bruce, For some unknown reason, I do well this time of the year. I am mostly a listing agent and I double up on my efforts to get listings and it works for me.  I take many days off throughout the year.  I feel R&R helps me not burn out.  I've been in real estate for 34 years and don't want to burnout again like I did in the 90s.  I try to keep a consistent income throughout the year but I DO usually take off most of my time in Sept and Oct which are slow months here.

Bruce,

Worked yesterday while everyone else shopped - phone rang until I thought I would go mad - five or more showings.....one offer......more appointments for today......

That is a good post Bruce!Too many realtors take off between Thanksgiving and New Years....now is the time to kick it up a notch...NOT holiday for a month!

As the inspection industry is affected by slow sales this time of year, I resort to other types of inpsctions to offset the decline in "typical" property inspections. I also am generating another revenue stream not dictatec by the ups-and-downs of the real estate industry.

I have found that this time of year has always been steady for me.  After all Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day are only 3 days.  Some of my competition takes the whole time period off - 41 days this year.  Let's keep working and enjoy the holidays.

I don't take off between now and New Years, I am primarily a list agent and I triple my effort to get my homes out there and obtain more listings ~ Last year this was the busiest time of year for me !
