How often do you repeat your keywords in the copy and other places in your site?
Did you realize it is possible to hurt your SEO by over using your keywords in the
content of your site?

Please keep in mind if you are writing such copy for your site you want it to flow
and sound natural and not like a constant sales pitch. For example, read the following
copy below the wrong way first then the correct way....

Wrong Way
 Real Estate Web Design
Our Real Estate Web Design firm offers a high level of creativity to businesses
in the Real Estate industry. Our Real Estate Web Design styles are never made from
templates. Each Real Estate Web Design is a custom creation just for your site.

Correct Way
Innovative, cutting edge, and unique. Those are phrases that best describe many on-line
real estate businesses. Web design for your organization should match your style and
never be created from templates. The site designs you'll receive from our Real
Estate Web Design firm will be truly reflective of your personality and aimed at your
market audience because we work exclusively with agents like you.

Another common mistake you want to avoid is using your keyword lists repetitively one your page.
For example if your keyword list is something like computer supplies, computer equipment, and computer
software you would not want to write your copy to read something like this...

Wrong Way
When you're shopping for computer supplies, computer equipment, and computer software, you need
a store that offers a variety of choices and excellent service. Because computer supplies,
computer equipment and computer software can be an expensive venture, you also want a company
 that has the lowest prices.

Trust Tech Supply to bring you the widest selection of computer supplies, computer equipment
and computer software on shelves every day. Orders are shipped immediately upon approval- for
all computer supplies, computer equipment and computer software.

Read the above out loud, now doesn't that sound odd? Does your own site sound odd when you read it aloud?

It is ok to have a list of keywords used consecutively one time and maybe even twice just down use them all
consecutively every-time you have the opportunity to work them in. Instead you should discuss computer supplies
in one paragraph, computer equipment in another, and then computer software in yet another paragraph.

Using lists too many times can be considered spam and will actually hurt your rankings.

Read the copy on your site aloud to someone and have them mark a paper every-time you repeat yourself, any phrase or keyword list or even just a keyword you repeat more than twice on one page should be re-written in other terms.

Crystal - I am beginning to see the added value you can bring.  Even to one who has experience in web page creation.  Creativity and experience far outweight just knowing how to do something.

I agree I was at a page rank of 2 and smoked my self down to 1. I got a little "happy" with the SEO stuff.

Good post.  A lot of people wonder what is the best keyword density for the search engines, but they should worry more about how the customer sees it.

It is not only how the customer sees it (which is an excellent point btw) the spider will also then read the other words around the keywords in your content to make sure it is relevant as well

Crystal, Someone commented on Keywors, Google will tell you which to use. Just Search on Google Keyword Tools then use this tool ( for free ) Google will tell which keywords are relevant and which are not.  Great Post.....
