Cary, NC, Real Estate: The Fabulous Moolah is GONE!

Man, I'm glad she made her mark in Wrassling instead of Real Estate.

Imagine going up against the Fabulous Moolah in a contentious transaction!

I mean, would you take a flying drop kick for your client?

Mary Lillian Ellison, aka, "the Fabulous Moolah" passed away last Friday.

Some fun facts I gleaned from the NY Times obituary:

"The Fabulous Moolah" was the youngest in a family of 13 kids, and the only girl.

No wonder she took to the Flying Drop Kick, Flying Head Scissors, and the Flying Mare. With 12 older brothers, she likely had plenty of role models.

Moolah was born in Tookiedoo, SC, and that name alone makes me want to visit the area.

Divorced 5 times.

Won the championship for the last time in Cleveland, at the age of 76.

Featured at Madison Square Garden on July 1, 1972, when the New York State Athletic Commission lifted the ban on women's wrestling.

What's this have to do with North Carolina Real Estate?

Heck, I dunno.

I just know that last week, a little bit of color went out of the world.

Mike, I have to be honest I had never heard of the fabulous Moolah. I read the article about her and you are right she was a very colorful character. It sounds like she was way ahead of her time in women wrestling. 76 years old and won the championship, WOW!

I have heard of her and had seen a documentary on women's wrestling a while back and she was in it. She was one tough babe. I would have loved to seen her in real estate and negotiate a deal...it could have been entertaining :) She will be missed and there is definitely no one else like her!

ANybody who is the youngest of 13 has to be tough. I love the name of the town - Tookiedoo. We have some great town names here in the south.
