I don't know about you, but I LOVE autumn, especially in the mountains. The air is cool and crisp,and that pungent smell of falling leaves hits somewhere in the back of your head to make you feel as if every part of your senses has come alive. If you take a casual drive into the mountains to find groves of dogwoods or aspens hidden in the forest, you are in for a treat of incredible flaming fall color. Yosemite is especially amazing right now; just driving the road down into the valley immerses you in enough color therapy to soothe even the most agitated soul! 

I'm apparently not the only one who is motivated by autumn colors - over the last few weeks I have had a number of potential home buyers call me for showings/tours who have made a vacation out of checking out the Central Sierra mountain area for prices and availability of homes to buy for second homes, vacation rentals or to retire to. All of them have had the opinion that with interest rates low and the market still slowing, it's getting to be a good time to buy. My clients have felt that the turn around must be getting near and that rates can't stay low for too much longer. Most of them rented a cabin or stayed at a bed and breakfast, included a trip to Yosemite, or just spent some time exploring the mountains and scenic byways. They also included a day with me looking at homes that might interest them, or just getting to know the mountain communities, lakes and neighborhoods.
