What should the relationship with a real estate agent feel like?

Should a client or prospective client expect consultation... or manipulation?

Pressure, or presentation of facts?

Old school boiler room tactics, or the comfort of working with an agent who really cares?

I prefer to work with clients on a personal basis, responding to their needs, and anticipating where that will take us.

How compatible are pressing for the sale, "badgering" the client like an adversary, and working as a fiduciary?

Badgering is aptly portrayed in the Johnson Auto "Tired of being Badgered?" advertising campaign that lampoons old school sales, and is currently in high gear in the Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, NC area.

They are all here on YouTube, and are hilarious.  And just a little too close to realistically portraying some sales people I have worked around...

Mike, I love the badger commericals to pieces.

No I do not want clients running all over me and It is worth loosing them than trying to pull out my hair because they are not in to purchase a new home but play a game with everyone and waste everyones time.

Next I need to learn how to insert video. How about a blog on that one for me?

Susan,

I'm not so smart.

I just followed the instructions these two fellers posted:

Nick M

Jeff Turner

And you might seriously consider using Jeff's Real Estate Shows for your tours.  Cheap and Easy!

Mike,

Those are some really good commercials.  I thought of real estate when I first saw them too.  The badger with the crazy suits reminds me of a few pushy agents out there.  I looked up some information on these commercials the other day and found out they were made by the same ad agency that does the Geico caveman commercials.

Mike, great commercial!  I for one do not like badgers and it would be my nightmare for someone to think I in turn am badgering them.

Rita,

I'm tapped out on new cars.  But I sure like the commercials!

Marchel,

You should go to the YouTube page and watch some of the other "Tired of being Badgered" commercials.  They are truly a riot!

Mike, I don't even consider my self a salesperson... I have an aversion for the word. We are Real Estate Advisors, or Consultants.  We operate in a No Badger Zone!

Ginger,

I agree, I don't sell homes, although, I do sell my services.

I just don't get very many "Kapowees!"

Those commercials just crack me up, though.

Thanks for stopping in.
