So we have this mighty fine offer all set to go.
I call over to the listing agent in Raleigh, and a nice lady answers the phone.
Me: "I have an offer to send over. Fax or email"
Nice Lady: "Fax."
Me: "Thanks."
I have the paperwork assembled and fax it out. Toll Free number. Cool!
And I think about it, and decide to email it too. Belt and suspenders approach to real estate communications.
And an hour or two later, I get a call from my client.
Seems some irate lady in Minneapolis just received a 17 page fax. And has to pay for it. He knows this because the irate lady called his home and tore into his wife. "Who is paying for this? I'm not! Blah!...Blah!..."
My client: "I don't know where you were sending this, but I don't think you got it there."
Then his voice broke a little and he chuckled. Made me laugh out loud.
Client: "She says her number is '800-555-1212.' "
And I'm checking frantically... I dialed it right! The listing agent's contact information on the MLS registry is wrong!
I'm exonerated!
I mention it to the LA, and he apologizes. Says he has changed it multiple times, but the MLS doesn't get it. I believe him. I have changed my profile photo three times, and it shows the old one.
Me: "You might call them. This was a little embarrassing for my client's wife."
Him: "Yeah. I'll do that."
The next time I see her, I'm thinking I should ask my client's wife for her cell phone number, to pass to her new friend in Minnesota.
Or not...
Oh Mike, is that why I should not read your blogs? I cannot quit smiling. I am still smiling. ugh.
