I havent been on ActiveRain for very long, but I have noticed that there are a lot of blog comments with HUGE SIGNATURES!

Most people start a blog to advertise their name, brand, face, products, etc.

It's kind of rude to advertise your face, products, company, etc on the BLOG COMMENTS.

Blog comments should stick to JUST COMMENTs on the blog, and not including a picture of yourself, your company's name, etc.

Let's all be courteous to one another, and please refrain from posting comments that YOU yourself wouldnt want someone posting on your own blog.

The only CUTE FACE that should show up on the blog is my 2yr old son. :)

8 Comments on Blog Comments with Huge Signatures...VIOLATORS Must Read!

I'd probably have a huge signature if I could figure out how to do it!

I do like to know what part of the country people are from.  If I can know that without clicking on anything, all the better.

Isn't it your bedtime? :)

Putting your city/state......is fine......it's when you're offering products...and have MASSIVE fonts with a HUGE PICTURE of yourself on the blog comment.

Robert, I agree to an extent, but disagree mostly.
While I do not consider myself a violator, I think we need to look at this closely.

For instance, this post by you is viewed to the enire public, and not subscribers or members only. So if it is a members only post, then I think we should allow any signature. If it is for general public, such as this post, then we should be courteous of the owner of the blog.

Just because I want to sign my name, or even my photo to a blog that was created for AR members only, there should be no issue.

I eventually would like AR Members to view me as a viable responder to issues and questions. And it makes it much easier if I do so in a manner that fits my personality.

I am sorry you feel this way..... But I think the audience of the blog needs to be viewed by responders in regards to what and how they say certain things.

I apologize.....I meant the blogs that ARE POSTED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

Members ONLY of course is fine....but when you're starting a blog to the GENERAL PUBLIC for advertisement purposes...and someone posts their ads there..then it is wrong.

The other issue can be that sometimes a loan officer may solicit services to a realtor or Vice versa....and this of course would be members only.

Good point Brady

there are some people who put links etc in their comments

it is generally frowned upon by AR guidelines

there are people who use images in their comments as well... it is just bad etiquette/// you shouldn't advertise yourself in someone else's blog

if it is bad, instead of complaining, just delete them and contact the commentor and tell them why

Robert,

You must be doing well for your age. I have not met an agent that young before! As a matter of fact, I was looking for a BIG picture or logo of my company to post it here but I could not find one BIG enough. I will just settle for writing "just comments" only here. What a bummer.  Great post.

If they're posting thoughtful comments on my blog, I don't really mind a big ol' signature.

I don't mind a signature if it's a moniker.  Like let's say the Document diva, who has a very pretty scripted signature.  But all out advertising on my blog will be deleted if not done with my consent.  How Rude!

You're son looks like he's 5 and actually teaching his Kindergarten class.  What a cutie!
