PATTY is a retired school counselor, private client psychotherapist and professional harpist. But she loves keeping her fingers
involved in the education of teens, so she frequently substitutes at Dallas' private Lake Hill Preparatory School. Today, September 11, 2007, she went to substitute for the French teacher.
Without any warning or prior knowledge of an event, about 8:30 the four hundred students, the teachers, administrators and workers, heard a trumpet begin to play taps from the very end of the first floor hall; and then a few minutes later, the trumpet sounded taps again, this time from the middle of the second floor hall; and finally a few minutes later, taps was played again, this time from somewhere within the third floor hall.
The husband of one of the teachers plays in the trumpet section of the Dallas Symphony. On the way to rehearsal, he decided to play a solo three times at Lake Hill Preparatory School, so that everyone could feel the moment.
Patty called to tell me.
What an AWESOME thing for that person to do...what a tribute! Thanks for sharing this with us!
