So you see your competitors "naturally" ahead of you in the Yahoo and Google searches.  What can you do to make your name, page or site Google/ Yahoo friendly?

PPC..."pay-per-click" is one way...a VERY expensive way to get on that first page.  Google didn't get to raise 500 Billion $'s by not knowing how to charge your credit card.  Sign up for PPC and you will see what I mean.  I have done it before and you can't believe how fast those clicks add up.  There is a better way!

AR WILL bring customers to your door if you learn a few little tricks.

#1- When you set up your profile you get a line for your first name and your last name. Use your "First Name" line for your ENTIRE name plus add whatever you want the search/ key words to be for.  After my name I mention "Newton Real Estate".

#2- Your "Last Name" line should be used entirely for the searches/ key words you want separated by a "-" or a comma...or not...it doesn't matter...as far as I know.  Repeating the key words is a good thing.  The more the BETTER!

#3- Blog like crazy to get to the top of the page.  Try to have something intelligent to share...or market listings...or blog about the real estate news of the day.  If you bore the AR crowd they WILL tell you and hold you responsible.  This is a "tough room" as they say.

Get to the top of your key word search and the top of your geographic area and your name will be up there in lights too!

Yes, I have been seeing more and more of the advertisement as you are saying about what to put into your first and last name.

I just tried it and it didn't let me use as many meta words as I wanted to...and all the meta tags showed up in my title...I'll be looking for improved rankings.

Great points - and it definitely works.  It seems to work better in Google than Yahoo though!

Yup, I learned that trick a few weeks back, and I can see how it helps!  Good stuff ---
