Are you trying to figure out if your www.realtorname.com is a waste of time since you've been on AR? Are you trying to figure out how to juggle both your AR and your other website so neither is neglected? Are you addicted to AR and your other website is already neglected? I've posted how to syndicate your AR blog if you'd like to try that...see this post: http://activerain.com/blogsview/181875/Syndicating-Your-AR-Blog but if you don't want to do that, I'd suggest scrapping your other site and redirecting the url to your AR Blog. This would be useful if your current site is just a basic static site with no IDX integrated or no other real bells or whistles. You can easily redirect your url to be www.activerain.com/rondelw for example. That's my blog. It's real simple and effect so if anyone ever types in www.rondelw.com for example, it would take them to my AR blog...I don't have that set up so don't try it. =) But that's how it works.
Feel free to contact me iIf you have any questions or would like further explanation. I can help you with domain registration, hosting, web development, blog syndication, single property websites, IDX integration and more.
Rondel, I agree that it is hard to juggle managing a multitude of sites. Thank you for the advice. I have seen my web presence skyrocket since joining Active Rain. If I "google" my name I believe it is always the AR profile that ranks highest of any other website that I am managing. It makes sense for someone to redirect a static website to their AR blog.
My blog is about technology and how Realtors can do their job easier. I'm a former Realtor in Solano County, specifically Dixon and Vacaville. I am still connected in the Real Estate world and can refer you to an excellent local Realtor that will fit your needs.
As of late, my focus has been on web designer/developer and will blog about that. I can help you with your web needs like hosting, domain names, and other Internet marketing.
Please contact me regarding anything I might be able to help you with.
Interesting advice. Not something I would really want to do, and my current site sucks.
