I thought I'd touch on this topic a little. Not to say that I'm the best one to talk about it being that I don't listen to my own advise and blog that often. I was asked the other day by an agent if starting a blog could help their rankings with the search engines. My answer to this is yes.

Starting a blog, especially hosted on your own site is great. Search engines like to see new content and blogging is a great way to keep adding new content to your site on a daily or weekly basis. The more new content you have on your site the more often the search engines will come by and check out your site. 

If you are blogging on a site that is not the same as your site it is a great place to get some links for your site. For example, blogging here on Active Rain and when writing a blog you can reference pages on your site and link to them. Like if you were taliking about a Real Estate Agents directory or a Real Estate Forum. You can link to your own site in that way.

So can blogging help your rankings with the search engines, I say yes.
