I have read many posts about home staging (which I really do think is a good thing).

As an auctioneer, however, that got me to thinking...

Essentially, it all boils down to this... Do you have a client who:

1.  Needs to clear out the clutter in their house before selling?  An auctioneer may be able to help

2.  Needs cash for a down payment? An auctioneer may be able to liquidate some of their assets for the cash

3.  Needs to downsize from a large home to a smaller one (such as a condo). An auctioneer can help with the downsizing.

4.  Job transfer?  Why give the stuff away at a garage sale - hire an auctioneer to sell the stuff using competitive bidding to maximize the sales price. 

5.  Junky stuff that won't show the house well?  Stager's nightmare?  Same thing - hire an auctioneer to clear out the "junk" and buy new furniture an accessories to stage the home better.

6.  Settling an estate? An auctioneer can clear the house out in a day and help the family settle the estate.

Please develop a relationship with an auctioneer today.  Agents SHOULD be paid (and expect) a referral fee from them.  I know I always pay them.

You are welcome. As I said, I believe staging is a very important part of the home sales process.  I also recognize that it is not always easy to make a home look inviting based on what assets the Seller's currently own.  Why not turn some of those assets into cash to buy better ones?  This will make the home look much nicer and more potential to get it sold quickly.
