One of the repairs on the list mentioned in the previous Blog is "East Side Porch Light not working".  The builder's response was "must be a light bulb".  Since there are two lights (East and West) on the same circuit, we switched the bulbs.  Result - East Side Porch Light not working.

Reported this to the builder.  Response - you need to try 2 new light bulbs!  OK - I'm not a licensed electrician, but I do have common sense.  If this is the best the builder warranty rep can come up with either they are being less than truthful and they know it - or they really believe their suggested "solution" is a reasonable step to take!

I think they are in the wrong profession!

I hate to laugh but that story made me crack up. The sad part is they were probably serious.

I will agree that directing the customer to do any "experimenting" is a bit unprofessional.  The builder should have referred the customer to a policy that all bulbs are tested 48 hours before closings since most will need to be changed anyway.
