I have had really good luck with my listings now that they are all filmed and can be watched on youtube.  Hopefully it is a way to stand out.  In our market not many agents are doing this kind of marketing for the sellers they work for.  I just wish i could figure out a way to embed that listings into my realtor.com pages.  (they seem to get looked at a lot)

Does anyone know how to embed html video into realtor.com?

it sure would be nice to be able to get that video up on that site.  it amazes me that so many sites do not allow you to make your listings really really cool.  One of the things i really like about Activerain is how easy it is to make your listings and profiles and other forms of advertising stand out here.  I guess we just need to keep telling people about this site.

I've never used realtor.com (I'm a mortgage guy), so I don't know how much editing they let you do.  Of lot of sites will not let you embed code on their site for security reasons, but you should be able to at least add a link to the video, right??

Cool.  How do you get people to go to google and yahoo to search for it?

Marcus, who do you get to do your video, or do you take it yourself?

nathan:

I grew up skateboarding and have a skateboard shop i own.  I would call the local skateboard shop and ask if they know a filmer looking for work.  I pay my guy.  (a kid i skate with)  $25 buck-$50 per edited video.  He films edits and places it on youtube.  I bet you could find the same deal in your area.  or ask a kid at church.  the skateboard thing works well because the kids usually are good filmers and editors.  they also usually have good equipment where a kid with a camera may have no talent, experience or equipment.  Good luck.  Also check those referals i told you about on the main activerain page.  there was a few utah ones.

Marcus: You can't embed video on Realtor.com.   Only companies who are "PicturePath Providers" can provide a LINK to your video. There  is no charge if you have the 'enhanced listings' package, otherwise they charge the provider (in this case, me) $19.95 per listing.

BTW.... YouTube is without question the WORST quality online in regards to videos.  You might want to look at some other options like WellcomeMat.com or Brightcove.com, which will make your videos look FAR better.  WellcomeMat is real estate specific as well.

If you remove your branding from the video, you may be able to link to your video through your MLS (I do it all the time).  But they don't allow branded videos.

Also, you might want to watch yourself when uploading video to sites like YouTube.  You can't use copyrighted music - or you may be inviting the wrong kind of customer (lawyers!).

For more infomation on marketing real estate with video, you might look at the video tour group here on Active Rain.

Marcus - I've been considering doing this - I have a camera that will do a couple minutes of video with pretty good clarity.  You've now inspired me to try this with a couple new listings we have.  Thanks!

Interesting.  I may give this a try.  I am wondering if I can just use the virtual tour link.  I will give it a try and if it doesn't work, make a little film myself.  Thanks.
