Interesting.  An organization in Manchester NH - The Manchester Republican Committee - is hosting an event to educate the public on the original weapon of mass destruction - The Machine Gun!

First I must disclose that I am a member of the NRA.  I firmly believe in the Second Amendment.  I also hold a great deal of awe, respect and curiosity for any complex mechanical device.  Cars, Guns, even homes. 

 I feel that any device created by man is bound to be twisted, perverted, used and/or misused as its use becomes more ubiquitous in our society.  I mean, take the squirt gun - or even better - the Super Soaker.  Great fun right?  But wait, what other neat liquids can be used in the Super Soaker?  Don't you think there are hundreds of kids out there thinking the same thing?  Bleach?  Urine?

But this blog is about real guns - machine guns.  Guns are designed to perform one function only - Killing.  The only thing we need to remember is that the gun cannot perform this act independently.  The gun must be activated by its user.  The gun is an inanimate object until it is put into motion.  Same as the Super Soaker full of bleach.

I wonder if this is intended to be bait?  An apparent Political organization hosting it?  Presidential Candidates bouncing all over NH.....  Things that make you go Hmmmm...

Any opinions out there?
