In the midwest, we haven't really understood what Northridge Quake was really like but this certainly gives me and the other Twin City residents a much better idea. Truly horrific!

Our prayers go out to those affected by this tragedy. People think that only those living in the coastal areas, are in earthquake country are vulnerable to large scale disasters like this - but NO area is immune.
Sadly, it might almost be better if it had been terrorism. Unfortunately this is only the tip of the iceberg. The infrastructure of this country is in a critical stage. Towns, cities, counties and states are struggling to generate sufficient tax revenues to maintain. I fear we are going to see more failures like this in the future, especially with Steel structures like this one was.
I hope your friends and family have been spared in this tragedy David.
