"All by myself...don't wanna be all by myself anymore" If you are a youngster you probably do not remember the song by Eric Carmen back in 1975. I was driving by a FSBO property this morning and this song happened to be playing on the radio and it got me to thinking. Do any of these FSBOs ever get to thinking such thoughts?

Selling a home as a for sale by owner can be a rewarding yet lonely experience these days.  Selling a home as a Realtor can be challenging as well. The difference though can be just a matter of resources available to the task - time, money for advertising, open houses, Internet promotion, direct mail - exposure in general. There are so many homes available for sale out there that a property seller must differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack.

How can you do that? Curb appeal, staging, property promotion, pricing correctly, offering interest buy downs, etc. There are multiple ways to separate your home from the others. Yes, there are resources available to help the FSBO market a property themselves. Take a look at www.localism.com         and you will find plenty of information! The number of websites available is overwhelming.

Over the years I have provided no obligation information to some FSBOs. Some have sold their properties themselves, others have come to me for assistance later as they were just too busy to deal with the details. Either way, Gary Waters is available should you have any questions. Although I primarily work in Brevard County Florida I can certainly put you in contact with a quality real estate professional in your area.

Good luck with your efforts! And, if you don't wanna be all by yourself anymore, call a real estate professional!

Good post. I can't see why anyone would want to sell by owner in this market. There's no way they can get the exposure they need, with so many homes on the market.

Lisa - Yeah, who would want the aggravation! Thanks for the comment. Have a great Port Orange Day!

Goodness...I remember that song...the year after graduation..haha!  And so many people think they could sell it before on their own...worse now.

Remembering the song...geez. I guess that shows our level of sophistication or maturity! FSBOs do learn - eventually!

Thanks, Suzanne. Yep, that really is an appropriate theme for FSBOs. Especially in this market I believe. Thanks for the comment.
