A few signs you are a little out of balance between work and that "Life Worth Living" when:

1.  You go to the family reunion and reflect on everyone's housing needs.  'Hmmmm.  She's 17.  Probably ready for a condo in another 6 years."  "Betcha Uncle Joe and Aunt Betty downsize within a couple of years."

2. Personal contacts are mentally filed as "3/2.5/2," or "2 acres or more," etc.

3.  Your phone won't let you input any more contacts, and your home and family aren't entered in yet.

4.  You can't find the milk and bread at your local grocery, but you can rattle off the 6 nearest subdivisions and their average home selling prices.

5.  You buy more, and nicer, flowers for clients than you do for your wife or mother.

6.  You watch the movie "Oklahoma," and give your Sweetie a riveting dissertation on "location, location, location."

7.  There's a lockbox on your front door for the kids after school.

8.  You are in an alley.  Two goons with guns at one end and a menacing snarling dog blocking the other end.  You go to the end with the guys with guns.  They might need investment real estate!

9.  "What's Balance?  Who needs it?  I can do this 24/7."

10.  Finally... You are with your Sweetie.  It is quiet and you think you remember her name.  You pull her close, look into those soft and vaguely familiar eyes and say, "Baby...I want to be your REALTOR for life!"

Rebecca,

Work to live or live to work?  It's a constant issue, isn't it?

Ray,

My Sweetie about popped a gusset on the old "I want to be your Realtor for life."

Barry White would have been proud.  Not....

LOL

Great blog Mike - I needed a chuckle today.  Making up new ones could be fun:

11.  You book reservations for a weekend getaway and think "This trip will make a GREAT blog article"

12.  You and your sweetie count driving around taking blog photos as "quality time"

13.  You have real estate marketing materials in EVERY room in the house.

14.  You curl up with a good magazine for some light reading on changes to the NC offer to purchase.

Hi Mike:  Too funny!!  Even though your are kidding (I think LOL) you are right it is all about balance and not letting real estate throw the balance off kilter.

Good Morning Mike,
Funny and unfortunately true!  Rita did a good job finishing off the list.  I'm not sure there is a way to balance your life when you are in real estate, after all we are on call 24/7.  Thanks for starting my day with a good chuckle.

#8  The dog or the 2 gunmen.....ummmmm have to think about that one.  The dog might have an owner; then there's the Dog Catcher that will try to tranquilize him, the people in ER, the news media that will run with the story " Local Realtor mauled while taking photos of alley", and ......

I'll take the Dog.......

Kathy,

Good idea to analyze choices based on the possible resultant referral pool!
