I thought Homestead would please folks who are searching for homes on wooded sites in Cary, NC.

Deep woods surround custom homes in Homestead, Cary, NC

Homestead was developed in the 1970's and is home to custom built homes on lots that average over an acre in size, with some as large as 4 acres.  Home styles vary from contemporary, ranch, cape cod, to traditional 5-4-and-a-door colonials.  Home prices vary widely, although historically the neighborhood does not have a great many sales in a year.  Homes tend to range from $400,000 and up when they do go on the market.

Along with shaded properties, Homestead offers a superb location on the north side of Cary, NC.  Access is easy to shopping, all sorts of dining, Town of Cary government offices, Raleigh, NC and the Research Triangle Park, RTP.

Despite this prime location, Homestead was never annexed into the Town of Cary, and is not subject to Cary property taxes.  Residents are only subject to the Wake County Property Tax.  More on Wake County Property taxes.

Mike,

From the pictures, these homes look great! I wouldn't mind having a home like this one day because the neighborhood looks like it's far away from the city noise. I probably wouldn't be able to deal with the mosquitos at night, though.

I have a question about their market. You said that "...historically the neighborhood does not have a great many sales in a year." That struck a chord with me because my neighborhood is also slow compared to the neighborhoods around us. In an area like that, how do go about marketing their property? Do you go the conventional route and just put it up on the MLS and wait? How do you find your buyers for slow-moving areas??

Josh,

It IS a great location.

What I mean is that houses seldom go on the market.

It is just not a neighborhood with a lot of turnover.  Maybe 5 or 6 sales in the last three years!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Mike. Very nice job featuring this lovely community. Love the trees. Think there out to be a law againt clear cutting lots for development!

Ginger,

Thanks,

And it is nice to see large trees.  So often, when trees are saved it is in areas that were logged and only sickly scrub has survived.

Wow Mike!!  I REALLY like this neighborhood!  I can see why the homes don't go on the market often.

Marchel,

Thanks for reading.

If you could only see how neatly it is tucked away, with great access to shops and services...
