As I grab a bite to eat, A few thoughts came to mind that could be useful information.

#1 -How do babies eat? From what I recall, generally every few hours throughout the day. And they stop when they are done!

Thought -#2

Drink WATER an hour before you EAT!

Purchase the book, Body for Life By Bill Phillips. It includes everything you need as you go on your journey. http://www.bodyforlife.com/

If you get a chance, check out the website and the transformations for yourself at their website.

Also, The Book –The Power of Full Engagement, by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz.

It discusses how to manage energy –it’s a fascinating read and in my opinion a MUST.

12 Comments on Quick Tip -- Eat like a baby!

Drink a lot of water an hour before you eat, even right before you eat to fill your stomach and you won't be so likely to go for seconds.  I love seconds!

Good point, however, if you eat small meals meals throughout the day --seconds maybe a thing of the past.

Aziz,

Great point and so true! Smaller meals throughout the day, like babies! Love it! :)

The other day I was watching a show--forget which one though --anyway--the amount of sugar they found in soda is criminal.  As a mater of fact, I would drink a fair amount of gatorade and I cut back last week and its made difference.  Water also helps to eliminate toxins!

Thank you for your comments

Excellent advice!

For the past 6 years I have discovered the benefits of just this very thing. Not only does the body handle small amts better, but thos method keeps the body from its 'starvation' alert by which it then holds onto calories instead of burning them.

Thank you -- I really appreciate the comment.

On my way home from the gym another thought popped up and that is to eat your largest meal early and taper back as you go through the day.

My challenge is that I eat six full meals a day.

Seriously, un-learning bad habits is a task.  I have found the early water helps curb overreating.  Vegtable juice is another one (low cal, high vitamins)

If I were you I would choose one thing to change until it becomes a part of your normal routine and then go to the next thing you want to change.

Yup change is enevitable

This is a good tip.  I have also heard that dehydration is also a main cause of overeating.  Drinking more water could help decrease appetite.  Sometimes you just have to tackles things one by one until you completely exchange your bad habits for better ones.
