Get children tested for lead, even if they seem healthy.

Wash hands, bottles, toys often.

Make sure children eat healthy, low-fat foods.

Get home checked for lead hazards.

Regularly clean floors, sills, and other surfaces.

Wipe off shoes when entering house.

Fixing surfaces with peeling or chipping paint.

Don't use belt-sander, propane torch, heat gun, scraper, or sandpaper on painted surfaces that may contain lead.

Don't try to remove lead-based paint yourself.

Earl - Something that was on the news this week was that lead has been discovered in many toys that are being imported from China.  It might not be a bad idea to check the kids toys out right now and remove any potential hazards---especially with toddlers who can't resist chewing on everything!
