I had a client call me on Friday and asked me if they should still continue to talk to Scam MortgageCompany, because they thought that they would deal with me directly. Now this is a previous client, so they have received the opt out information in my newsletter and they know that when you do a mortgage loan with me you deal directly with me. I explained the selling of their credit information by the credit bureaus. She said that when they called her, they stated that she had completed a home loan application for a new mortgage and they needed to get more information. She gave them the information, social security numbers, income information, purpose of loan etc. Once she realized what had happened she was furious, to say the least. Mott... This new practice of buying information from the newly pulled credit reports and then acting as if they are with the company they started with is so disturbing! What is wrong with good 'ole fashion advertising, and building your own data base? Thanks for weighing in!
