  • Ms. Mitchell says "Green Real Estate Education was founded in early 2006 with the company market focus on creating "green" education for all 4 disciplines within the real estate arena and to get approval for continuing education credits across the country. The company motto is: leading an effort, to a new way of life. Green Building for Realtors ® ( Real Estate Professsionals )and the company's other courses help all in the real estate industry to discuss the new "green awareness"  with clients." The course offers a basic understanding of "green" materials and gives an overview of not misrepresenting the industry. Ms. Mitchell says, " the real estate professional is the first line in the communication for most consumers and  real estate investors look to all professions in the real estate industry to protect their investment."  She continues "In this new world of green awareness and consumers want guidance on how to save energy and lower operating and management costs and how to lower utility bills." Real estate licensees will be representing these structures in the marketplace. According to Mitchell, homeowners and business owners are not well informed on the availability of state and federal tax incentives to make their structures more energy efficient. Sources to find energy efficient tax incentives, financing and green finding products are discussed. Global issues are covered as they relate to real estate and an overview of renewable energy systems are beginning to be installed in homes and buildings nationwide. Explanation of the  basics of "green" mortgage products and energy raters are discussed. Licensees learn about the third party green certifications locally and nationally. These concepts give homeowners and building owners the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance.
